A throwaway address is for the websites you are not sure about: a shop you found in an ad, a forum you will visit once, an app that wants your email before you can even try it. If they spam you, sell your address or get hacked, your real inbox is not affected.

    What makes it private

    • No sign-up. We do not ask for your name, phone number or another email.
    • Trackers blocked. Many marketing emails contain invisible pixels that report when and where you opened them. We block them and show you how many we found.
    • Images off by default. Load them only when you want to.
    • Deleted on time. When the timer ends, the address and its emails are gone for good.

    Throwaway emails and data breaches

Big data breaches leak billions of email addresses every year. Each leaked address brings more spam and phishing. Using throwaway addresses for low-value accounts keeps your real address out of most of those leaks. Learn how to check yours in was my email in a data breach?

Simple rules for using it well

    1. Use it for one website, not many. Get a New random address for the next one.
    2. Save important emails with Save as PDF before the address expires.
    3. Never use a throwaway address for accounts you need to recover later.

    Questions

Is a throwaway email address safe to use?

Yes, for low-risk sign-ups. Remember that anyone with your access key can read the inbox, so keep the key private, and do not use a throwaway address for banking or important accounts.

Does a throwaway email protect me from tracking?

It helps. Tracking pixels in emails are blocked, images stay hidden until you load them, and the address is not linked to your name.

Do I need to delete it myself?

No. It deletes itself when the timer ends. You can also press Delete now at any time.

Will I get spam on this address?

Maybe, but it does not matter: the spam lands here, not in your real inbox, and disappears with the address.
